Vodacom Group has been recognised as Africa’s top employer for the second consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute, alongside accolades for its subsidiaries in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Kenya’s Safaricom.

The ranking assesses companies on criteria such as people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, and employee well-being. Vodacom’s continued recognition reflects its strategic focus on fostering an inclusive workplace while advancing employee welfare.

In 2024, Vodacom introduced new policies under its CARE (Compassion, Acceptance, Respect, and Empathy) framework. These initiatives included expanded family responsibility leave and support programmess for various life stages, such as menopause.

Beyond internal workplace improvements, Vodacom launched the Digital Skills Hub to address Africa’s digital skills gap.

The platform, developed with partners like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, aims to train one million young people in digital competencies by 2027.

It offers self-paced courses targeting individuals aged 18 to 35, including training in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

The initiative is part of Vodacom’s broader efforts to prepare Africa’s youth for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and to bridge the continent’s digital literacy gap. Key programs, such as AWS Educate, form part of the hub’s offerings and complement Vodacom’s existing online learning platforms.
